The Client
A networking infrastructure specialist based in Middle Tennessee, offering smart home technology installation to residential and business clients. Strong technical background and a wide range of services, but struggled to convert that expertise into consistent sales through his existing website.
The Challenge
01
A website attracting the wrong audience
The client’s landing page was built around keywords tied to the brand names of the smart home products he installed. In practice, this meant the page was mostly reaching people searching for customer support from those brands, not local homeowners or businesses looking to hire an installer.
02
Expertise that wasn’t translating into sales
The client had deep technical knowledge and a broad service offering, but his messaging wasn’t communicating that value in a way that converted visitors into leads.
03
A limited ad budget
Paid search needed to generate real call volume without room for expensive, broad-based campaign testing.
The Approach
Phase 1
Rebuild around real buyer intent
Replaced the existing landing page with a modern, mobile-ready WordPress site. Conducted local keyword research and moved messaging away from brand-name terms and onto local, buyer-intent search terms. Built dedicated service pages targeting specific offerings, benchmarked against and improved on competitor pages. Added a blog to capture informational search queries and feed the buyer-intent pages further down the funnel.
Phase 2
Establish local search trust
Set the client up with Google Business Profile, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console, then optimized the Business Profile for target keywords. Manually built 50 local citations to strengthen NAP (name/address/phone) consistency across the web, a key local-ranking signal search algorithms and directories rely on.
Phase 3
Make a small ad budget perform like a bigger one
Built dynamic Google Ads campaigns paired with a single dynamic landing page whose copy updated in real time to match each ad, allowing broader keyword coverage without a proportional increase in spend. Layered in conversion tracking on both form submissions and phone calls, giving the client full visibility into what was actually generating business.
The Result
Local SEM for Better Niche Ranking
20 calls a day from a small budget.
The dynamic ad and landing page setup turned a limited spend into a consistent, trackable stream of inbound phone calls, the client’s primary conversion goal.
A site built on customer keywords.
Shifting from brand-name to local buyer-intent keywords redirected traffic toward people actually looking to hire an installer.
A local search foundation built to last.
50 hand-built citations, a fully optimized Google Business Profile, and full analytics/search console visibility gave the client both stronger rankings and the data to keep improving.
